What was his surprise, despite the fact that they change the driver's license every year, to see our Ukrainian international license, which has been valid for 60 years. Soon another driver tells us that he knows a cool island that can be reached via the longest bridge in Malaysia and brings us straight there, although it is expensive and he doesn’t even need to go there, he tells us about the most beautiful beach on the island and here we are in George Town, we set up a tent under a palm tree overlooking the most beautiful sunset in our lives. So in a day, you can turn from a negative into a positive, thanks to the good and kind people around you along the way. 😊

The last day on the island did not go too smoothly. We spent the whole day swimming and walking. We came to the room, took a shower and as it turned out while we were gone the room was cleaned and new towels were brought, with which Miguel wiped his face after the shower. Wrapped in these towels, he lay down and after 15 minutes felt his eyelids begin to swell and put pressure on his eyes, his palms itch and his pulse quickened. Two minutes later, his eyelids were so puffed up that he could see little, his neck was swollen, his heart was beating faster and faster. In life, without experiencing anything like this, it was a little scary, in principle, Miguel was frightened by only one thought, about how stupid it was to finish the round the world trip leaning back from something incomprehensible. But the main thing in such situations is not to panic, it’s bad that we don’t have any insurance or money, and in the hotel instead of a doctor there was only a first-aid kit with bandages, and they can only offer a taxi to the other end of the city to the hospital, since there’s not even ambulance on the island. Having soberly assessed the situation, we thought that this was an allergic reaction to some kind of chemistry, which the towel might have been treated with. We were right, taking allergy pills and putting tea bags over his eyes after 2 hours, Miguel felt a little better. We went on a trip with absolutely no money and no financial airbag, no insurance and so on. We went around the world only after telling our parents and friends that we would return in 5 years, when we had traveled all over the world. Only a couple of months before traveling, Miguel learned how to make websites on the constructor and found several freelance customers who paid us $350 a month all in total. It was our entire budget. We knew that if something happened, then no one would help us, since the parents or friends would not have such an opportunity either. And in our home the war was raging in full, where it is already impossible to return. That's why we traveled on a budget and always used only the cheapest hotels, couch surfing, the cheapest cafes and hitchhiking. But believe us, this made our journey only brighter and more interesting.

The island of Langkawi is located on the border of Thailand and Malaysia. Although it is only 70 km from the mainland, the nature here is already different. The whole island is one large resort with a constant temperature of 28 degrees, except for the two months of the rainy season of September and October. The island is so small that there are not even city buses, everyone rides their bikes, cars and taxis. The locals don’t seem to have heard about hitchhiking here and it’s quite difficult for a traveler to get around, but for only 25 ringit ($ 6) you can rent a scooter for the whole day, which is quite enough to go around the whole island, with its 3 amazing waterfalls, a crocodile farm and a wonderful sky bridge, which, unfortunately, we did not get because you can get there by lift, but it costs 40 ringit ($ 9). Here, as in programs about travel, monkeys run around the island, which, as it turned out, are not so cute))) and the beaches here are even more gentle than in Thailand. Langkawi is also called the city of eagles, and it’s true that there are quite a lot of them here, sometimes it’s even strange to watch a huge eagle land on a palm tree near the shore. Unfortunately, the water here is as muddy as anywhere else while we were, so there is nothing for diving enthusiasts to do here, which is why we soon planned to find a place where you can do great snorkeling. But in general, Langkawi is a wonderful island. Hostels here are cheaper than the mainland and can be found for $9 per night for two. You can eat in local cafes here for $ 3 and moreover it will be delicious. We think we could even stay here to live, but we are afraid we'll get bored quickly.
