2022-10-01 15:09:50 +0000 UTC View PostWe survived that night and by 8 am people started coming again. The sun came out and we were able to see a huge crab on the pier. It remains to board the ship and say goodbye to beautiful Thailand. π₯²
2022-10-01 02:58:24 +0000 UTC View PostBeing late for 5 minutes on our ship from Thailand to Malaysia, we decided to immediately buy a ticket for the nearest ferry, which was only the next day at 9 am. We were told the price of 700 baht, as we expected, but when we opened the wallet there was only 690 baht, and not 1000 as we somehow expected. We scratched in change for another 10 baht for a ticket, and we were left penniless. Only $1 was on the cards. But what would you understand, the port is not in the city, but in the jungle, where for many kilometers there is not even an ATM, there are no shops here either! Just a minute, we did not make any return tickets from Malaysia, nor hotel reservations, and we do not even have money for some kind of commission, which customs officers sometimes like to come up with so much. We only hoped for the fact that Malaysia is visa-free for us and there should be no problems. Soon all the employees began to go home, and we were left completely alone. All alone! In a huge port with a bunch of halls in which you could do whatever you want, open dining rooms, exits to the pier and customs passages. At first we had a feeling of euphoria, like a kid who is left for the first time in a huge house. We turned on the lights throughout the port, turned the dining room into a bedroom by moving the chairs together, turned on the fans, turned on Rock and Roll louder throughout the port and enjoyed freedom until night fell. At night, everything became much dumber than in the light of day. All over the huge building there were some sounds, eternal knocks and creaks haunted. But even though a one and a half meter monitor lizard was running in the parking lot, and healthy rats began to appear everywhere, the most nightmarish horror was the merciless mosquitoes, because of which we had to completely wrap ourselves in sleeping bags, even though it was very hot in the tropical heat. At night, we were visited by some local bikers who, like zombies, wandered through the empty corridors of the port for another hour. As a result, waking up every 15 minutes, we still waited for the coveted dawn and soon we were already sailing, with the Malaysians still incomprehensible to us, to the largest island in our life. The consequence of Thai mosquitoes in the port, counted 32 bites on one knee)))) Through the pants!!!
2022-09-30 14:45:02 +0000 UTC View PostSongkhla quickly bored us with its monotony and we decided not to wait for the end of the Thai visa and rush to Malaysia. At first, the goal was just to cross the border, but then we started to break through the prices for hostels in Malaysia and the prices did not please us at all, and couchsurfing did not reciprocate us. What can not be said about the Malaysian island of Langkawi, where the hotel is 2 times cheaper than on the mainland, and it is located 60 km from Thailand. So it's decided, we're sailing to the island! We packed up the tent and hitchhiked. Thai drivers, as always, delighted us with their kindness. First, granny took us out of town to the highway, and as soon as we got out of the car and stomped to a new position, a Thai family again slows us down, again they give the phone to talk with their friends and take us to the next city. "It's a pity they dropped us off in the city" we thought, since it's harder to catch a car in the city than on the highway, and we went to the nearest bypass. And again, without extending a hand, a sweet girl slows us down and makes a detour for herself, taking us as close as possible to the city in which the port is located. By tradition, she let me talk on the phone, but now with her mother. When we stopped, she got out of the car and went to the buses to negotiate something, we realized that she wanted to put us in a minibus at her own expense, so that we could safely get to the port. Reacting quickly, we got out and said that we would hitchhike just fine. To which she pityingly handed out 500 baht, which, by the way, is $ 14. The girl was incredibly sweet and it was not at all convenient for us to take money, although the money at that moment would not have bothered us, because we had 1000 baht left (as we thought), and a ticket to Malaysia on a ship, according to unverified information, cost 700 baht for all of us. We politely declined and started to stop further. It was terribly hot, and I was very thirsty, suddenly an aunt comes out of some cafe and brings us two bottles of water. Yes... We haven't seen anything like this yet. This time we are picked up by a huge pickup truck, the interior of which is crammed with a Muslim family, and the open trunk was completely littered with bags, and even the scooter was standing in the middle. We thought that there was nowhere to put our backpacks, but the driver did not think so. He opened the trunk door, rammed our bags, Jasmine was thrown right on them, and Miguel sat on the scooter astride. Yes, at 100 km per hour on mountain roads, this trip could only be called "With the breeze". Landscapes changed with each kilometer, now we are driving along modest Muslim villages. We got out, only a little before reaching the port, and, unfortunately, for the first time no one has stopped us for almost 15 minutes. And our ship should sail in an hour (as we thought). A small pickup truck rolls up again, with two old men inside. Trying to explain what we needed to the port, they could not understand us, but they said that they would give us a lift somewhere, well, as soon as we got into the pickup truck. Nearby, another brakes sharply, in the back of which there were already Thais. They stopped grandpa and said that we would take them ourselves, and they told us that we would climb out and sit down to them, and they would take us straight to the port. We didn't really like it, because they looked very wary. At first, we were not going to get out of this pickup at all, but the guys did their best to explain that they just wanted to help us. Having trusted them, we jumped into their pickup, which we did not regret at all, because the guys, having heard that grandfather did not understand us, decided to take us straight to the port, although they generally went the other way. To my question: βWhy are you taking us if you donβt go there?β The Thai, who was sitting with us in the trunk, replied that they were doing a good deed, and doing good deeds is good, thatβs all I understood in his broken English . Yes, the Thais never cease to amaze us, even then we realized that I would miss this kindest nation on earth. Arriving at the port, we were greeted by a guard smiling sarcastically, waving his hand, which meant, as it turned out, that our ship left 5 minutes ago and it was the last one for today. A few hours later, all the employees of the huge port went home, leaving us to spend the night in it all alone. But this story deserves a separate post.

2022-09-29 06:09:47 +0000 UTC View PostThe cozy beach of Songkhla, there are no waves at all, the ebbs and flows are not felt, and the sand is as gentle as in Phuket. There are expensive hostels from $ 15 and there is no couchsurfing, so for three days before Malaysia we will live here in a tent, visiting two cafes daily, one in the morning and another in the evening, since these are the only places in the town that have wifi.

2022-09-27 17:30:04 +0000 UTC View PostA little bit about psychopaths on the road. We just got one of these, it looks like an ordinary car, an ordinary Thai driving. Miguel asks: βHi, can you give us a ride?β, answers βOKβ, well, okay, okay, after a couple of minutes of incomprehensible conversation, it turned out that he understands nothing in English except okay. And then he decides to take out his mobile and turn on porn at full volume, periodically looking at the road, while he apparently gets tired of driving in his own lane and across the lawn he decides to drive in the opposite direction, of course everyone honks him, but our maniac does not care. We tell him: "That's it, dude, we'll get out here, slow down," to which he just smiled sweetly, laughing. The only thing that bothered us was that he had a central lock in the car, and we could not open the doors manually. After driving another 200 meters in the opposite direction, he turned to a gas station, where we immediately got out of the car. It's good that the guy turned out to be not a maniac, but just fucked up. ahahh Of course we didn't take pictures of it. So here are Thai boobs, they are just beautiful. Amazing culture, isn't it?

2022-09-27 02:30:06 +0000 UTC View PostAn interesting feature. All Thais like to call some theirs friend while hitchhiking and give us a phone to talk to him, citing the fact that they don't speak English well, but often there is a Thai with the same level of English on the other end of the phone and hear the same the screams! "Hello! Hello, how are you!" and thats all. But at the same time they are very glad to talk like that))). But the first time we was extremely surprised when the random driver himself talking on the phone, hands me the phone and says: βThis is for youβ =)))))
2022-09-26 06:07:52 +0000 UTC View PostHitchhiking in Thailand turned out to be simply amazing, we didnβt have to stand on the road for more than 5 minutes, and 3 times they picked us up while we were just walking along the highway and didnβt even raise our hands, saying: βSit down, Iβll throw you somewhere, otherwise It's so hot outside." And the benefit here is all the cars with air conditioning. We decided to move as close as possible to the border with Malaysia. Our choice fell on the province of Satun, a coastal city that is interesting for us, located on the other side of Thailand, which means swimming in the South China Sea. Fortunately, people drove us straight from city to city, and the last driver decided to take us straight to the beach, making a 60km detour for himself. As a result, in just one morning we drove something about 300 km, and were already there. Thank you friendly Thais)))
2022-09-25 17:56:14 +0000 UTC View PostThe materialization of thought never ceases to amaze us. Coming out of Krabi, we began to stop in the direction of Malaysia. All our lives we dreamed of riding in a jeep pickup like those cool travelers from YouTube. It was so hot on the road that we thought: "Damn, right now it would be cool to ride in a pickup truck with a breeze." Well, then you yourself understood. ππ
2022-09-25 05:42:51 +0000 UTC View PostA little magic. π We woke up in Krabi, well, we need to move towards Malaysia. People say here in Krabi wonderful diving, but something is too lazy to look for these beaches. Miguel said "We need to find free Wifi, and if somewhere along the way there is a hardware store, we need to buy headphones with a microphone, otherwise the microphone does not seem to work on a laptop." And we notice the sign of the hotel with the name Hogwarts, in front of the entrance there is a cozy swing bench. Having fallen on it, we greedily grab the free Wifi that comes from the hotel. Remembering the headphones, we look down and in front of the entrance to Hogwarts we find lying headphones with a microphone. Jasmine decided to assume that this is like "The Room of Requirement" from the same Harry Potter. Where everything you want appears at once. Miguel, realizing this, decided to take advantage and immediately said "I want a girl", as a nice Thai girl comes out of the door and smiles sweetly, considering that it was only 8 o'clock in the morning and there were no passers-by at all, in surprise Miguel did not even have time to answer her "Hi" . Now I realized the full power of magic and decided to order something more serious, we immediately thought about a million dollars, but then we figured out the cruel realities and if a million actually appears right now, then weβll have to hide it somewhere, then more problems will begin. And now we didnβt want to strain so much, especially now, on an empty stomach. "Oh, right!" thought Miguel and ordered tastier and cheaper food from the magic, it was all a joke, and without waiting for the waiter with lobsters, we went to the exit from the city. But having moved away from Hogwarts 15 meters, we stumbled upon a huge Crab, near which there was a crowd of old athletes celebrating some kind of healthy lifestyle holiday. Seeing us, they called us to the table, which they laid right on the street, and fed us well with all sorts of sweets with coffee, gave us more water for the journey and sent us on our way. And Miguel, making sure that the magic worked for sure, quickly tried to think of more sun glasses, an action camera and a motorcycle, hoping that the magic of "The Room of Requirement" was as strong as the wifi there. Looking ahead, Iβll say that Miguel has already got glasses =) πΆπ₯π
2022-09-24 02:56:11 +0000 UTC View PostPatong is beautiful, of course, but we have been here for 5 nights, and we are going on a trip around the world, so you canβt sit on your back point for so long. At night we were already in Krabi. We want to eat, in the night markets, there are only incomprehensible street foods left. We took some crap wrapped in nori, it turned out to be a mega spicy pate, itβs impossible to eat. We found a fallen coconut on the road, but it is not realistic to open it. Not finding a cheap hostel, and not knowing the city, we set up camp right in the center of Krabi, under some kind of miracle tree, with a thousand buzzing insects. It turned out that by mistake they took the wrong tent from home, not the one that we bought specially for the trip around the world, but the old one, full of holes and heavy. Our first night in a tent ... Well, it's harsh, scary, of course, not a hotel in Patong, but you can live. Woke up with the sun.

2022-09-23 00:41:55 +0000 UTC View PostBig Buddha sits in the very center of southern Phuket. Being on the top of the largest mountain, he seems to be peacefully watching the tranquility of the entire island. The most interesting thing is that this is not just a statue, but a whole temple, inside which modest Buddhist monks sit and sing mantras. It is so calm and not stressful there that when you leave the temple you feel so peaceful, and only good thoughts remain in your head. There is absolutely no tension here, which we felt in our churches, here you can sit down with the monks on pillows and go into nirvana through their tunes, from which the lamps in the temple sparkle, and their voice, through the jungle, descending from the mountain, reaches almost her foothills. And below is a small house in which the chief monk sits, you approach him, and he looks at you as if at a good friend, and his eyes say: "Well, finally you have come, I was just waiting for you." He asks where you are from and what your name is, and at the same time he cuts off a piece of multi-colored plexuses and begins to twist them. Smiling and looking first at you, then at your fellow traveler, who is standing in the crowd of other onlookers waiting to communicate with the monk, he still understands which of them is yours. Singing and muttering something, he ties the bracelet he just made on your arm and silently follows you with a kind look. A thousand people come to him a day, and it would seem that this should become a routine for him, but when you come to him, you will feel how truly unique he treats each of his guests. We think this is what is called: "Doing good", giving yourself completely, so simply giving people happiness.
